Our Director of Facilities, Tim C., has always expressed an overwhelming level of pride in his wife, Angie. He calls her “Angel”. Over the last few years, Angie has built a friendship with an older woman, we’ll call her Joan (name has been changed for privacy), who she sees occasionally at the grocery store. Joan is a retired nurse, who now spends a lot of her time visiting nursing homes and hospitals to give hand massages to patients. She is always ecstatic to run into Angie!
Unfortunately, something was different during their last interaction. Joan revealed that she was feeling very depressed and even her home caretaker noticed. Joan also confessed that she had been refusing to take her prescribed medicine, which was very out of character for her.
Wanting to help, Angie shared that she had recently gone through a similar experience with her father. She told Joan what she had advised her dad (something she has done with her sons, as well): “Outline your hand and write one good thing on each finger of what made you happy today.” To get Joan started, she said, “You can write that helping others feel better by giving hand massages makes you happy. You are also happy to see friends andacquaintances. That’s two.” Joan, excited to finish the exercise, figured out three other joys, right there in the grocery store. She gave Angie a great big hug and told her “you just made everything better. I’m so happy I ran into you today!”
Tim ended the story with one (very true) statement: “I have a great wife!”

We get numerous requests to merge duplicate accounts together in TEAM. Sometimes it is even 4 – 5 accounts that are needing to be merged into 1. We also get numerous request to ‘unmerge’ an account that has been merged together. While this is a possibility, the process is very time consuming and the possibility of the accounts not being completely accurate is high. All of this can be avoided if an account is created correctly in TEAM.

Creating New Accounts in TEAM:

Search by Account Code –

Enter their account code and press ‘Enter’ or ‘Tab’. If the account is currently in the system, the name and info will automatically appear. If it is not in the system, you can then proceed with the Create Account process by filling in the rest of the fields.

Search by Inmate Name –

ALWAYS use the ‘Search Existing Accounts’ button BEFORE you create a new account. Right above the ‘Search Existing Accounts’ button, TEAM will let you know if there are any accounts with a matching name as the‘new ’ account. When you click on the button, you will be able to select an inmate if the account is already existing, avoiding the possibility of duplicating accounts. If the account is not there, you can click on the ‘Cancel Search’ button and proceed with the Create Account process.
